Controversial opinion incoming. I am in the top 0.01% of my MLM company. I make over $200,000 per year. I drive a company car. I speak on stage at events. And I would never recommend network marketing to a friend. Why? Because I know that my income is mathematically dependent on hundreds of people below me losing money or barely breaking even. For every person like me earning $200K, there are 2,000 people earning nothing. The system requires a massive base of people buying products and failing at the business for the people at the top to earn well. I love my life, but I struggle with the ethics of it daily.

Former Herbalife nutrition club owner here. I invested $25,000 to set up my club. First year was brutal - barely covered rent. Second year I started making about $3,000 per month. Third year I was at $6,000 per month. Then COVID hit and I lost everything. The business model worked but it was fragile.
I was a top earner making $15K per month. I walked away from it 2 years ago because I could not handle the guilt anymore. Watching people I recruited lose money while I profited from their purchases was eating me alive. I now have a regular job and sleep much better at night.
