MLM and religion - why do MLM companies target church communities?

I have noticed a huge overlap between MLM and religious communities, particularly evangelical Christian churches. MLM companies seem to specifically target church networks because: 1) Built-in trust networks. 2) Culture of following leaders. 3) Community orientation. 4) Prosperity gospel alignment. 5) Regular meetings and social gatherings provide prospecting opportunities. Several major MLM companies have executives who reference faith in their marketing. Is this an organic connection or deliberate targeting of a vulnerable community?

I am curious about the international aspect. Does your company operate in multiple countries? I have heard that some people are building teams overseas where the market is less saturated.

Before joining any MLM, ask to see the income disclosure statement. Not the success stories on stage - the actual numbers showing what percentage of distributors earn at each level. If the company does not publish one, that is a massive red flag.

Great breakdown of the compensation plan. One question - when you say you earn 5% on your first level, is that 5% of wholesale or retail price? Because that distinction makes a huge difference in actual dollar amounts.

Can you share which company you are with? I am researching several options and would love to compare notes. Also, what does your monthly autoship actually cost and what products do you get?

You nailed it. I spent 2 years in network marketing and the only thing I gained was a garage full of unsold product and a smaller bank account. But I did learn valuable sales skills that I now use in a real job.
