The best and worst MLM compensation plans explained simply

I have studied over 30 MLM compensation plans and here is my simplified breakdown. Binary plans (two legs): Good for fast growth, bad because one leg always outpaces the other and you lose commissions. Unilevel plans (unlimited width): Simpler to understand, but harder to earn deep commissions. Matrix plans (forced width and depth): Company fills positions but income is capped. Stairstep breakaway: Best for long-term income but you lose your best people when they break away. Hybrid plans: Combine elements but are usually so complex that nobody understands them. Which type have you had the best experience with?

This is exactly my experience too. My upline promised me the world and then disappeared after I signed up. I was left trying to figure everything out on my own while paying $150 per month in autoship.

Great breakdown of the compensation plan. One question - when you say you earn 5% on your first level, is that 5% of wholesale or retail price? Because that distinction makes a huge difference in actual dollar amounts.

I completely agree with your points. I joined two different MLM companies and had very similar experiences. The monthly autoship alone cost me over $4,000 before I realized I was basically paying for the right to sell overpriced products.

I have been in network marketing for 10 years across 2 companies. Currently earning about $5,500 per month. Here is the truth nobody tells you - it took me 4 years of consistent daily work before I hit $1,000 per month. Most people quit before reaching that point.
