My wife joined an MLM and it is destroying our marriage - need advice

I do not know where else to turn. My wife joined a skincare MLM 8 months ago and things have gotten progressively worse. She has spent over $5,000 on inventory and products. She is constantly on her phone messaging people. Every social event becomes a sales opportunity. She missed our anniversary dinner for a "team call." When I express concern about the money, she says I am not being supportive and that her upline says partners who do not support the business are the number one reason people fail. Her upline has essentially become her life coach and I feel like she has joined a cult. Has anyone dealt with this? How did you handle it?

You cannot compare MLM to a traditional job. MLM is entrepreneurship - it carries risk but also unlimited upside potential. If you want guaranteed income, get a 9-to-5. If you want to build something, be prepared to struggle first.

What would you say to someone who is 3 months in and has not made any money yet? At what point should they evaluate whether to continue or cut their losses?

My biggest piece of advice - never recruit someone who cannot afford to lose their investment. If a person is living paycheck to paycheck, you are potentially putting them in a worse financial position. Be ethical about who you bring into the business.

I am curious about the international aspect. Does your company operate in multiple countries? I have heard that some people are building teams overseas where the market is less saturated.
