The company began its journey in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash. Mary Kay produces and sells cosmetics through direct selling. The company has more than 3.5 million independant sales persons and sells all over the globe. The company offers some amazing bonuses and incentives. The company had a very strong marketing team. In the late sixties and seventies, when the company was beginning to gain distributors, the company gave bright pink cars to its distributors who managed their targets. By this move, the pink cars got to be associated with Mary Kay and the company got more distributors, thereby increasing their sales exponentially.
